B&H Accounting & Tax Services ("B&H," "we," "us") provides bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and tax services from Milpitas, California, and operates the website bnhtaxservice.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you call, email, or request a consultation, we receive your name, contact details, and anything you choose to tell us. When you become a client, we receive the financial and tax documents and information needed to provide the services you engage us for.
Website usage information. Our website uses Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, your browser and device type, and your general location. We use this only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How we use information
We use your information to respond to your inquiries, provide and bill for the services you engage us for, prepare and file returns and reports on your behalf, send you email updates if you asked to receive them, and improve our website.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services or as required by law, for example:
with government agencies such as the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, and the California Employment Development Department when we file returns and reports on your behalf; with service providers we use to deliver our services, such as our secure client portal (provided by Karbon) and our payroll processor (SurePayroll), which handle information under their own privacy terms; and when required by law, regulation, or legal process.
Email updates
If you ask to join our mailing list, we add your email address manually. Your information is never shared or sold. To stop receiving updates, email us at bnh@bnhtaxservice.com and we will remove you.
Security
We ask clients to send documents through our secure client portal rather than by regular email, and we limit access to client information to the people who need it to do the work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Google account data
B&H uses a Google API application internally to keep files in the firm's own Google Drive accounts synchronized with the firm's own computer systems. The application is used only by B&H staff, and it accesses only the Google accounts of the B&H staff who sign in to it. Google user data accessed through this application is used only for that file synchronization. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with any third party.
B&H's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You may ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. Some records, such as tax records, may need to be kept for a period of time to meet legal and professional requirements; if so, we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
